Our school is named after Sam Houston, an important leader of the Texas Revolution who served as the 1st and 3rd president of the Republic of Texas.

Sam Houston Elementary has a robust history of providing quality education to McAllen ISD since the very first building opened its doors in 1920 on 1001 S. 16th Street where it was located for 50 years.

On August 15, 1996 Sam Houston opened this campus on 3221 Olga Avenue.  Along with this sense of history, a sense of belonging and familiarity quickly developed.

Today our school houses over five hundred students in twenty five classrooms.  We have highly qualified staff aimed at ensuring that each child leaves Sam Houston prepared to continue on their educational journey.

Nuestra escuela adopto el nombre de Sam Houston en honor a Sam Houston, un líder de la revolución de Texas quien fue nombrado el primer y tercer presidente de la República de Texas.

Nuestra escuela tiene una sólida historia de brindar educación de calidad a McAllen ISD desde que el primer edificio abrió sus puertas en 1920 en 1001 S. 16th Street donde estuvo situada por 50 años.

El 15 de agosto de 1996, Sam Houston abrió este plantel localizado en 3221 Olga Avenue. Junto con este sentido de la historia, se desarrolló rápidamente un sentido de pertenencia y familiaridad.

Hoy nuestra escuela alberga a más de quinientos estudiantes en veinticinco aulas. Contamos con personal altamente calificado cuyo objetivo es asegurar que cada niño deje Sam Houston preparado para continuar su viaje educativo.
