What is RtI? 

"Response to Intervention" (RtI) is a process that refers to how well students respond to research-based instruction. The purpose of the program is to provide a safety net for at-risk readers, some of whom have learning disabilities. 

•       Response to Intervention (RtI) is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with   learning and behavior needs.

•       The RtI process begins with high-quality instruction and universal screening of all children in the general education classroom.

•       Struggling learners are provided with interventions at increasing levels of intensity to accelerate their rate of learning.

•       Progress is closely monitored to assess both the learning rate and level of performance of individual students.

How is an RtI referral done? 

•  Contact the campus RtI coordinator and set a conference to discuss the student’s concern, data, and needed intervention(s).

•  The campus RtI committee reviews the student’s file to determine eligibility and the campus RtI coordinator reports the decision to the referring person.
