Trainings & Supports

The Special Education Department conducts staff development and supports for general and special education staff, as well as individual campus administration staff, throughout the school year. The following are some of the trainings and supports provided in the district:

Child Find for Private Schools / Head Start / Day Care
Classroom Management and Behavior Supports
Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance
Individualized Education Plans

Medical supports and daily living skills
Disability training for campus staff

Trainings are intended to benefit the student by supporting teachers, instructional assistants, and any person working directly with the student. The ultimate goal of these trainings is to serve the best interests of McAllen I.S.D. students.
