Alexis Aguilar, a French horn player from Memorial High, was named to the 2024 All-State band. He is one of 16 students from McAllen ISD to earn All-State in music (band, choir, orchestra or mariachi). McAllen ISD has had at least four students earn All-State in music each year since 1980. In fact, McAllen ISD has been named a national Best Community for Music Education for 11 consecutive years. See video below.
