Due to the potential for severe weather, McAllen ISD will have a delayed start on Friday, Jan. 21.
Delayed start times:
Elementary - 9:00 am
Middle schools - 9:30 am
High schools - 9:45 am
Bus routes will run 1 hour later than the regular schedule.
All McAllen ISD staff will report to work at 8:45 am. Employees that must report to work before 8:45 am will be informed by their supervisor.

McAllen ISD Superintendent Dr. J.A. González (right) presents the Medal of Distinction Maestro Award to McHi Mariachi Oro Instructor Alex Trevino today at McHi. Mariachi Oro are the only mariachi ensemble in the nation to earn the National Youth Mariachi of Distinction award!

Attention Families: There will be a 1st and 2nd dose COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11 on Tuesday, December 7. The clinic will take place at the Boys & Girls Club - Brand Center (2620 Galveston, McAllen). Children who received their 1st dose during the November 16th clinic are due for their 2nd dose. It's official! The Administration Board Room is now the Dr. Ricardo Chapa Board Room. Tonight's ribbon cutting included School Board Trustees, leadership and friends & family members of the late Dr. Chapa. Dr. Chapa served for more than 35 years as both an educator and Trustee.
Look for McAllen ISD student musicians performing in this year's TubaChristmas concert! Come on out on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 pm at McAllen Performing Arts Center. It's free!
